Parent Coordinator

Parent Coordinator Welcome Letter

September 16th, 2022

Dear Parents and Guardians

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new Parent Coordinator at PS97Q, The Forest Park
School. My name is Naresha Ali and I have been a member of this community for the last 15 years where I live with my
husband and high school aged son. I am very familiar with the daily events of this school as I was a parent here with my
son. At that time, I was a member of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), Parent Advisory Council (PAC) and the
School Leadership Team (SLT).

Here at PS97Q, we have a very supportive staff who work under the direction of Mr. Aggoub, our Principal, Mrs.
Kalogridis, Assistant Principal and Mrs. O’Connor, Assistant Principal. We offer so many opportunities for you and your
family to become involved in your child’s elementary school education. I will do my best to keep you aware of events and
activities in our school community and our neighborhood.

As a Parent Coordinator, my main goal is to increase family engagement within our school and our community as a
whole. I am here to serve as a liaison to assist each parent / guardian and student with any concerns or issues that may
arise. I understand that elementary school is an important stage in a child’s life, and that it is one that is filled with
questions and concerns. I am here to help and give you the support, information and resources so that you can help your
children reach their academic, physical and social goals.

Family engagement is crucial for a child’s academic success from Pre-Kindergarten through the 12th grade. Here at
PS97Q, we are committed to creating a welcoming environment and to encouraging our families to become active
participants in their child’s academic journey. By collaborating with your child’s school community, you will be
establishing a pathway for clear and consistent communication with our school and yourself. An increased level of
communication will result in improved academic success for your child.

Please visit our school website for important updates at www.ps97q.com Families are welcome to email me with any
questions or concerns at NAli2789@schools.nyc.gov or call at 718 849 4870 Ext.1022 You are welcome to contact me at
any time. Also, I am including a link below to a google form that includes personal contact information for you to fill out,
so that we can have an open line of communication with each other. Click Here - Parent Personal Information Google
Form

I look forward to working with you in the best interest of your child.

Sincerely,

Naresha Ali
Parent Coordinator
