February 2020 Workshops

This month we begin our Health and Nutrition program with Cornell University.  Ms. Karina Orellana will be joining us to host an 8 session program nutrition.  The program will begin on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. and continue for 8 sessions.   Each will all participants will receive a trinket gift which they will be able to use in their kitchen.  We look forward to seeing many of you in attendance.  Visit the below link for dates and details.  

In support of the Respect For All initiative, we will be hosting several workshops on kindness and caring. 

We will read Pig the Pug with Mrs. Abramowitz, one of our ESL teachers along with some of her students on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at 8:15 a.m.  She will highlight the importance of sharing!  All in attendance will receive a free copy of the book to enjoy at home with family.  Visit the link below for details.  Spanish forthcoming.  
We will read Jasmine's Find with Mrs. Filan, our Health teacher immediately following Pig the Pug on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.  She will highlight the importance of being kind!  All in attendance will receive a free copy of the book to enjoy at home with family.  Visit the link below for details.  
We will celebrate Black History and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with Ms. Waters and Class 5-401 on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 8:15 a.m.    We will read Martin's Big Words and discuss the amazing things he accomplished in his life.   All in attendance will receive a free copy of the book to enjoy at home with family as well as an activity book highlight black history.  Visit the link below for details.  Spanish forthcoming.
Mrs. Murphy will start the Respect For All Week with reading Sharing Our Homeland with her class 4-409 on Monday, February 10, 2020 at 8:15 a.m.  She will touch upon a sensitive topic and discuss the book with us all.  All in attendance will receive a free copy of the book to read at home with family.  Visit the link below for details.

Celebrate the 100th Day of School with Mrs. Spar and Class Pre-K 215!  Details to soon follow.  

Can you decorate a room for a party on a low budget?  Do you know how to make flowers and banners and more?  Ms. Feria, our PTA President will be joining us on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 8:15 a.m. to show us how to make decorations so your rooms will look like they were done by professionals!  Visit the below links for details.
